Addie Anderson may be young but on Tuesday, June 27th,her determination, and willpower provided an achievement well beyond herage.
Last year, while walking through the Lake Grace Waterway Tunnel,Addie saw inappropriate graffiti painted along the inside of the tunnel anddecided she was going to do something about it.
This summer, working with the Chaska’s Public WorksAssistant Superintendent, Scott Selken, to provide paint and painting supplies, she organized a campaign drive to find volunteers to assist her in paintingover the graffiti in this 175 ft. long - 14ft. high tunnel. The only thing she asked others to bring wasa good attitude and friends!
With the assistance of her organized “team” of family andfriends they accomplished this unselfish task in helping make Chaska “The BestSmall Town In Minnesota.” You may askyourself: Why did Addie want to take onsuch a task like painting a tunnel? Heranswer was clear “Because We Are Capable!”
The City of Chaska would like to offer a huge THANK YOU to Addie for wanting to make a difference in her community and thank those who volunteered their time to assist her.
