Beginning next week residents will see work start in Firemen’s Park as part of the overall redevelopment project. The first work will include the installation of fencing around the site and mobilization of equipment. The corner of the site will then be prepared for footings and foundation for the curling building.
Construction will go through multiple phases to accommodate both the building and park development. The building will take the most time to construct of any portion of the development. This will require the first attention, with work continuing through the winter. The park redevelopment will start in the spring. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2015.
The City will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony at Firemen’s Park on Monday, December 15th at 4:00 pm. The ceremony will officially kick off the project and focus on providing recognition to the many civic groups involved in the planning of the project.
Any questions about the project or groundbreaking ceremony may be directed to the Chaska City Administrator, Matt Podhradsky, at 952-448-9200.
