The City of Chaska is seeking two residents to serve on a task force to discuss and make recommendations to the City Council on the transition of Veteran’s and Schimelpfenig Parks. At its September 21st meeting, the City Council voted to swap the names of these two parks, and as part of that action also established the framework for a Task Force to look at the many different aspects of park transition, including signage, park amenities, historical displays and the potential for a Veteran’s Memorial in the new Veteran’s Park. The task force will be made up of membership from the Chaska VFW and American Legions, the Downtown Business Alliance, the Chaska Parks Board, the City Council, and two members of the public. The purpose of the Task Force will be to present recommendations to the City Council to consider to fully transition these two Park Spaces to their future use.
Individuals interested in being considered to serve on this Task Force should be a resident of Chaska who is able to meet 1-2 evenings per month from late November through the end of March. Those interested should submit a 1 page summary describing your purpose for wanting to serve on this Task Force, any pertinent experience you may have had in the past that would serve this Task Force well, and any pertinent contact information. Statements of interest should be sent to City Administrator Matt Podhradsky at One City Hall Plaza, Chaska, MN 55318 or by email to email@example.com by November 9, 2015. Council will hold short interviews for the positions prior to the Council meeting on Monday, November 16th.
