W2 League Registration

League registration for W1 teams looking to enroll in W2 (Jan-Mar) is open Nov 4-5.  This grandfather window will close the remainder of the week as we work through any transfer requests and reconfigure the software.  Any team openings that remain will be available during general registration beginning Nov 11.  View the league page on the website for additional information.  As always, contact the Curling Center with any questions.

Nametags

Back by popular request- round three of nametags!  If you are interested in nametag, please purchase.  Cost is $10.  The order will likely be placed in early December after league registration has been completed.  The tags would then be ready for W2.  If you already ordered a nametag in round one or two, please pick up at the Curling Center office.

Part-time Help Needed

The Curling Center is looking for part-time help.  Customer service support is needed to help around the office, building, and ice.  This is great for curlers looking for flexible part-time work.  Knowledge of curling and Curling Center operations is helpful and desired but not required.  Evenings and weekends.  In addition, part-time assistant ice makers are also needed.  If interested, complete an employment application and email or drop off at the Curling Center.

Make Up Games

Make up games are ready for scheduling on Dec 17th (7pm), 18th (6 and 8pm), and 20th (8pm).  Call or email the Curling Center if looking for time outside of these windows.  Weekends and other options could and do exist, depending on the daily schedule.  Thank you for working with your league opponents to get your scheduled games in!

Bonspiel Registration

The Chaska Mixed and 5 and Under Bonspiels will open for registration on Dec 2 at 10am.  Visit the bonspiel page on the website for additional information.  The Big Spiel, which is run through the Twin Cities Curling Association, is also open for registration.

Level I Instructor Clinic

The Chaska Curling Center will be hosting a Level I Instructor Clinic on Saturday, December 14th from 9am to 5pm.  Level I instructors are trained to work primarily within their own clubs helping beginners play the game and novices to improve basic skills.  The course includes both classroom and on-ice components.  Registration and questions should be directed to the United States Curling Association.

Learn to Curl II

The Curling Center will be offering a Learn to Curl II class on Dec 7th from noon to 2pm.  This is a great class for members with 1 to 5 years of experience looking to improve their game.  Topics include alignment, balance, curl of the stone, communication, sweeping techniques, and basic curling strategy.  Video of your slide is also included.  The class is fun and very informative- a great environment to learn!!
