Gov. Tim Walz announced he is signing an executive order effective May 14, 2021, ending the statewide mask mandate following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) new mask guidance.
Throughout the pandemic, the City of Chaska has followed executive orders issued by the governor and COVID-19 guidance provided by Carver County Public Health, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the CDC. Based on these recent changes, we are updating our mask guidance.
- Members of the public who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear face coverings or physically distance inside City facilities
- Public health officials recommend that those who are not fully vaccinated should continue wearing masks indoors
- Private businesses, including tenants inside City facilities, may still require face masks, and the public should follow those requirements inside those establishments
COVID-19 vaccines are now available to anyone ages 12 and older. Visit mn.gov/COVID19/Vaccine to learn more and sign up. You can also sign up for the Carver County Public Health Vaccine E-newsletter to receive local vaccine updates.
