Chaska Curling Center

Learn to Curls

The Chaska Curling Center is offering more learn to curl opportunities.  A learn to curl is a 2 hour class that starts with an off ice introduction to the game including how you play, scoring, rules, and etiquette.  We then transition onto the ice and learn how to slide, throw a rock, and sweep.  The class concludes with participants playing a short game against each other. Once participants complete a learn to curl, they can take advantage of our practice ice or sign up for a membership.

May 17th, 6-8pm- limited to 48 participants
May 18th, 6-8pm- limited to 48 participants
May 22nd, 2:30-4:30- limited to 16 participants

Cost: $20

To register for a learn to curl, please click HERE.  Please note that these fill quickly.  We will continue to add more as we get into June, July, and August.

If you are an experienced curler and want to volunteer your time as an instructor at one of these learn to curls, please email the Curling Center at

Friday Curling

Looking for an opportunity to curl and don't have time to commit to a weekly schedule?  Friday curling might be just for you!  This is a great opportunity for members and current league players to introduce new people to the game and get some additional games in.

Skips sign up HERE ($20/team) and bring their four player team to the Curling Center for a game on Friday night at 7pm.

Members and NonMembers are welcome at Friday Night Curl!  Please note that teams must have at least two experienced curlers.  We will match you with another team for a six end game.

In the event of an odd number of teams- you can use the ice for practice with your team or you can get a refund and head to the Crooked Pint.  (Sometimes a 2 on 2 game is a great way to get practice and extra rocks in!)

Membership Privileges

If your team lost out of playoffs, you are just starting your 6 week league, or signed up for a membership after attending a learn to curl- take advantage of your membership.  Practice ice is available M-F, 9-noon and usually noon-3:30 (depending on the number of people renting the ice).  Weekend ice is available when no events are scheduled.  During weekend practice ice times, sheets 4-6 are drop-in use and we ask that you limit your time if people are waiting and combine to get 8/sheet during busy times.  Sheets 1-3 have the option of being reserved if you want to ensure your team has ice (a great option during busy times when teams are traveling a long distance).  Click HERE to reserve your weekend ice.  Current memberships run through September 30th.

Just a few reminders for new (and current...) members:

We will have lots of new staff at the window that might not recognize you.  Please check in at the window when using the ice.  Non-members can accompany you but they need to pay the drop-in price.

Please help each other out and remind one another to keep hands and knees off the ice- we need to save those pebbles and don't want flat spots (or holes) out there.

Sweepers and skips are in charge of keeping fast moving rocks in their field of play.  Stop rocks before they fly onto other people's ice.  We don't want anyone hurt.

Protect those hacks from fast moving rocks.

Continue to keep our ice clean- wear clean equipment and shoes and always clean the ice when your team is done with your game or practice.

Thanks to all the members for doing a great job of this!!!

Future Dates

We are close to having our fall schedule of leagues completed (or at least a good idea of what it will look like).  We'll get that out as soon as possible.  We've expanded league options and added more leagues.  Fall leagues will begin right away in October.  There is talk of a 10 week season prior to the Christmas/New Year holidays and a 10 week season after.  Details are still being determined.

We'll have another 6 week league starting August 15th which will be similar to our 6-week spring league.  Registration will open June 27th.

Ice will be out for at least the first 2 weeks in July.  We will completely take out the ice, get things cleaned up, and then put it all back in again.
